Shania Twain is finally back! The music world rejoiced this morning when BBC Radio 2 premiered her new single ‘Life’s About To Get Good’ in a world exclusive. The track is classic Shania Twain with a modern day twist. It’s pure pop/country at its best.
It’s the first track to be lifted off Shania’s upcoming album ‘Now‘ which is the country legend’s first LP in fifteen years.
The message of the song is all about seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. In the opening line Twain sings “I wasn’t just broken I was shattered”, but by the middle of the track the Canadian songstress gets optimistic and sings the line “I’m ready to be loved, and loved the way I should”.
Speaking about her first single in six years exclusively to the Bobby Bones Show, Shania said;
“I chose this as the lead single because, first of all, it’s very energizing, and I really felt that I needed to feel that positive energy, first coming back out again after so long. It just puts me in a good mood, and lifts me up, and also reflects on my true state of mind over these last few years that have been challenging. So, the song is about truth, pain, optimism, joy in pain, and it says everything I want to say after being gone so long.”
In the feelgood track, Shania Twain’s vocals are more raspy than in previous releases but that is totally understandable considering her long battle with the vocal chord disorder Dysphonia. But despite the slight change in her voice she still has the trademark vocal ability that made her household name.
‘Life’s About To Get Good’ marks a change for Shania Twain, and signals that her upcoming album ‘Now’ will be all about the ups and downs of life.
RATING: 5/5
‘Life’s About To Get Good‘ is out now, while the album ‘Now’ will be released on September 29th!
