Pete Brown, a lyricist and poet, passed away at the age of 82.
The co-wrote the songs Sunshine Of Your Love and White Room for the brief-lived rock combo Cream in the 1960s.
According to a message on his Facebook page, Brown passed away late on Friday from cancer.
Drummer Ginger Baker recruited London-based poet Brown to contribute to the songwriting for Cream, a band he had started with guitarist Eric Clapton and bassist Jack Bruce. Brown was friends with Allen Ginsberg and Spike Milligan.

After Cream broke up, he and Bruce started creating songs together, and they collaborated on the band’s hit I Feel Free. Their songwriting cooperation lasted for more than four decades.
